This is a drop in the bucket of things I’ve heard the cast members do in disney world. I’ve known hella people that worked at the parks and the stories only get wilder and wilder. I’m talkin Peter Pan suckin prince charming’s dick backstage before the castle show.
“There are books that have defined moments in my life, books which have carved out pieces of my heart and took up unapologetic residence. I have this irrational fear…that if I re-read it, I’ll lose the magic of that book. I don’t want to tarnish the memories. Each re-read of a book speaks to you differently, and I want to hold onto exactly how these books spoke to me at a specific moment in time.”

*reads the last line again*
*closes the book*
*deep sigh*
*screams*
*throws book out the window*
*jumps out the window after it*
*writhes in pain while clutching the book*
*cries and rocks it back and forth*
*puts it back down on the shelf*
*deep breath*
*Calls friend* “read this book”
“oh, hey what are you reading?”
*shows book cover*
“what’s it about?”
*mumbles unintelligibly*
“Sorry, what?.”
*shows back cover*
In class our teacher held up a black book and was like “this book is red” and we were all like “no” and he said “yes it is” and we were just all like “that’s not right” and he turned it around and the back cover was red and he said “don’t tell somebody they’re wrong until you’ve seen things from their point of view”
that spoke to me
Perspective is everything.
People who buy a book, read the book, and then go out and buy another book are people I admire because I buy 12 books at once and 11 of them usually sit there unread for years.
one of the things the harry potter franchise did right:
not put the movie poster on the cover of the book(s)
My personal heaven
A room, not too big, not too small. Bookshelves cover the walls completely. Some of them are full, others are waiting to become a home for countless of words. The smell of wood and books surrounds me. There’s a window in the corner, overlooking a yard. Snow is falling outside. It’s quiet. I have a cup of hot chocolate in my hand and I’m clutching a book to my chest. I settle in the reading nook by the window. I inhale deeply, open the first page and start reading.
The book that makes you forget your cell phone as you read is, my friend, a very good book indeed.
Do you ever just read the first page in a book and think, this book is going to be one of my favourites.
